VCA (SCC) advisors

On demand access to experienced professionals

If your organisation has a VCA (*/**/p) or VCU certificate (Safety Checklist Contractors – SCC), you will be expected to have an HSE officer too. Does your organisation have an SCC (*/**/p) certificate (Safety Checklist Contractors, or VCA in Dutch) or a VCU certificate? Then you will be expected to have an HSE officer too. You can either employ an HSE expert or use the services of an external safety expert. If you don’t have this expertise in-house, DEKRA can offer you on demand VCA expert support service (VCA on demand). It gives you access to your own dedicated VCA advisor at DEKRA and ensures you are in compliance with the various VCA and VCU requirements.

The VCA (safety, health and environment checklist for contractors) and VCU (safety, health and environment checklist for temporary work organisations) are both independent standards. Compliance with them demonstrates that high-risk work is being carried out in a safe, healthy and sustainable way. It also ensures that you implement HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) policy properly. The certificates show that you are a reliable partner. 

The benefits of VCA advisors on demand

A DEKRA adviser can help you attain and retain your VCA certificate by:
  • improving your VCA management system;
  • conducting an internal audit;
  • preparing or supervising the external audit;
  • conducting an accident investigation;
  • updating a hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA);
  • helping with action points that arise from audits or HIRAs;
  • etc.

External support when needed

After confirming VCA on demand in a written agreement, a dedicated VCA advisor is assigned. All our experts have obtained a VOL-VCA or VIL-VCU certificate and the secondary safety expert (Middelbaar Veiligheidskundige; MVK) qualification at the very least.
Show that the right expertise is associated with your organization. You do this with the written agreement and a copy of the expert's diploma. You must be able to show these records to the auditor of the certification body.
