New standards in the official journal
The European Commission has published Decision (EU) 2021/2273 in order tot the Implementing Decision 2019/1956. This means some standards will be updated or withdrawn. Curious to know which standards this applies to? Read the article below for more information.
Decision (EU) 2021/2273
The publication of Decision (EU) 2021/2273 is an update of the standards that can be used to show compliance with the Low Voltage Directive (2014/35/EU). Below we have listed the lighting-related standards that have been updated:
- EN IEC 60598-2-23:2021;
- EN 60400:2017/A1:2021;
- EN 60838-1:2017/A1:2017;
- EN 60838-1:2017/A2:2021;
- EN 60838-1:2017/A11:2021.
The following standards are withdrawn:
- Per February 3, 2022: EN 62035:2014;
- Per May 30, 2022: EN 60570:2003 and EN 60570:2003/A1:2018;
- Per June 21, 2023: EN 60598-2-23:1996, EN 60598-2-23:1996/A1:2000, EN 60598-2-23:1996/AC:1997, EN 60838-1:2004, EN 60838-1:2004/A1:2008, EN 60838-1:2004/A2:2011, and EN 60400:2017.
If you have product certificates that are tested according to the standards that are withdrawn, you’ll need to update these. Make sure to do this before the mentioned expire date to remain the validity of your certificates. Also update your CB-certificates to make sure that your CE-documentation remains valid and up-to-date. Find the full consolidated text
