DEKRA Product Testing
Do you want to guarantee that your e-mobility vehicles & technology meet the industry standards?
E-mobility testing for safety
Global e-mobility testing and safety certification
Developments within e-mobility are increasing at a rapid pace. This is the result of a combination of environmental legislation, global sustainability goals, growing consumer demand and technological breakthroughs. As an industry professional in the e-mobility industry, how can you keep up with all these developments? DEKRA is your partner when it comes to e-mobility testing, inspection and certification. From charging stations to electric car and everything that happens in between.
As automotive technology continues to develop, consumers are becoming more environmentally conscious. At the same time, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) are bringing more electric vehicles to market due to mandatory CO2 reduction targets. From 1 January 2030, only electric cars may be sold in the Netherlands. In the EU this applies from 1 January 2035.
E-mobility testing for ISO and IEC standards
Many car manufacturers are developing new hybrid and fully electric models. Hundreds of new electric cars will appear on the market in Europe alone in the coming years. This trend has an impact on the electricity grid and charging infrastructure. Not to mention the production of batteries and components for electric cars.
All these trends and developments add a completely new dimension to the automotive industry. The e-mobility trend unites two rather separate worlds: the automotive industry, which uses ISO standards, and the electrical world, which works with IEC standards. At DEKRA we are experts in both worlds. This puts us in a unique position to bring these two worlds together.

New standards and cybersecurity
Besides providing e-mobility testing services we are active in the development of statutory regulations and industry standards. In addition, we take an active part in various standardisation committees and industry-based consortia. These are comprised of OEMs, suppliers, development partners, providers of charging infrastructure, consultants, committee members and other test houses. This participation involves the development of new standards. For example, we help ensure that international standards keep pace with the rapidly changing developments within the industry.
In addition, we developed our own cybersecurity certification program. This focuses specifically on the cybersecurity of all types of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). We developed this based on international standards ETSI EN 303 645 and IEC 62443, among other things. Certified products receive our DEKRA Seal.
