DEKRA Mark replaces KEMA-KEUR Certification
DEKRA Mark replaces KEMA-KEUR as our certification mark and will be our certification mark recognized by CENELEC. This transition, powered by DEKRA, promises enhanced value for our stakeholders. Leveraging DEKRA’s expertise and resources, DEKRA Mark will introduce new services and standards tailored to evolving market demands focused on safety, security, and sustainability. These include areas such as EV charging, cybersecurity, semiconductor switchgear, heat pumps, advanced EMC testing, Industry 4.0, connectivity standards, energy storage systems, and more.
Background: Transition from KEMA-KEUR to DEKRA Mark
Following DEKRA’s acquisition of KEMA Quality B.V. in 2009, the rights to KEMA-KEUR remained with KEMA NV. To ensure continued access to a relevant certification mark, KEMA-KEUR was licensed exclusively to DEKRA. Recognizing the long term-commitment required for safety and security, DEKRA has decided to establish its own certification mark. This mark, accredited as a CENELEC-CCA certification under European Regulation 765/2008, aligns with the same quality procedures, international agreements, and product safety standards as KEMA-KEUR.
Each DEKRA Mark features a unique QR code serving as an identifier. This QR code enables consumers, manufacturers, government organizations, and stakeholders to effortlessly access detailed information about the certified product certification. Simply scanning the QR code or entering the certificate number on the DEKRA website grants direct access to comprehensive information. “The principles of DEKRA Mark remain consistent with those of KEMA-KEUR, facilitating easier access to international markets for our clients.
From KEMA-KEUR to DEKRA Mark
Any holder of a valid KEMA-KEUR certificate may request a DEKRA-Mark certificate. As part of the transition process, DEKRA will issue DEKRA Mark certificates in parallel with existing KEMA-KEUR certificates. DEKRA also aims to phase out KEMA-KEUR certificates through individual agreements with manufacturers, reflecting the effort required to update product labeling and documentation
Promoting DEKRA Mark
To ensure a smooth transition, we will launch the "DEKRA Mark is the new KEMA-KEUR" campaign. This initiative aims to inform regulators, wholesalers, installers, and end customers about the change. Furthermore, we will highlight the benefits of DEKRA Mark through a tailored communication strategy, including participation in exhibitions and conferences.
