DEKRA re-accredited for latest version ISO/IEC 27006

Dec 10, 2024

DEKRA Certification B.V. in Arnhem has been accredited by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) for the new version of the ISO/IEC 27006 standard (ISO/IEC 27006-1:2024). The previous version of the information security standard dated back to 2013 and has been revised in 2024.

With this new accreditation, DEKRA remains authorized as a certifying body to audit and certify organizations according to the ISO 27006 standard. ISO 27006 is the standard upon which certifying bodies obtain their accreditation to perform audits and certifications in accordance with ISO 27001. The updated version provides certifying bodies with more flexibility to conduct audits remotely and enables a more risk-based calculation of audit time.
From now on, DEKRA will carry out initial audits and recertification audits in compliance with the new version of the standard. Certificate holders will be notified in advance if this impacts the execution of an upcoming audit. The new accreditation does not result in changes for customers already assessed by DEKRA under ISO 27001.
